Giant Pictures

I have noticed on some blogs that I have seen lately that people have really big pictures on their posts and I am wondering how they got them that big. I always upload mine on the large setting, but they don't come out as big as I have seen. If anybody knows what I am talking about and knows how it is done will you please let me know. THANKS!!

Pregnant or Not?

I have had an IUD for the last 2 1/1 years. I had it taken out June 1st of this year so my husband and I could try for another baby. I bled for about 2 weeks after I had it taken out (which the doctor said was normal). I haven't had a period or bled at all since then. Its now been a month and a half. I've taken pregnancy tests and they always come out negative. My question is: Shouldn't I either have a period or have a positive pregnancy test by now? Its a bit frustrating either way right now.

What do you think I should do? Call my doctor and ask? Wait it out and see? ( I don't really have the patience for that)

Thanks!

Bottle Blonde

I've been getting my hair colored professionally for about 6 years, I think. I'm a blonde at heart and can't bear to go back to my brownish color. I'm serious about this, I go to a "blonde specialist". However, as you all know, going to the salon can get a bit pricey. I have to get my roots touched up every 6 weeks and it usually costs a little over $100 when its all said and done. Needless to say in this economy, it is something I may have to give up!

BUT - I will not go down easily. I want to know from any hairstylists out there if there are any over the counter blonde hair coloring kit that will get even close to my perfect-beautiful-salon-blonde. I've never had a good experience with the color bought from drug stores, it just doesn't look right. But maybe there's one I haven't tried that's actually decent.

Please help a sister out. Thanks in advance!

What To Do?!

I am in need of some advice, so here's my story. My sister and I have been planning a trip to a semi local theme park. Then along the way, I decided that I should invited my husband, being the kind wife I am. J/K. Anyways so it was going to be my sister and her little girl and my family. Then comes along my mom, she wanted to go, so I said that would be okay. Not thinking that it would be a problem. Well then of course she wants to bring her husband, again okay, I really figured if she was coming then he was. Just today, she took it upon herself to invite my younger sister and husband and my brother to come. When I told my husband he got really upset and mad saying "since when did this become her trip to plan and invite people to come." He told me that now he doesn't want to go and the rest of the family can go by themselves. This was never really just "our" family trip, being as it started with my sister and I planning it. I think that everyone wants to go, that is fine, really we don't need to spend all day together at the park and hang out. So it should be all good, right?

Here is my dilemma, I don't want to punish my kids and not go because my husband is mad that my mom is taking over. Also I am not one to confront people, especially my mom. So what do I do? Do I talk to my mom and ask her not to plan or invite anyone else? I really can't invite my other siblings, can I? Or do I just try to talk my husband into being okay with the way that it is and go and be happy? I really just don't know what to do! HELP!

Other fun ideas would be good recipes on a tight budget! What do you spend on grocery's?
We budget $150 for our family of three. It seems too tight sometimes, I even grocery shop at Wal mart to save money, and try to coupon!

HCG Diet & Pregnancy Tests

I did the HCG diet about 4-5 weeks ago. And I was wondering if anyone knows how long it stays in your system for? Because I know when you are on it, if you take a pregnancy test it will say positive. But I really think I am pregnant, and the pregnancy test said positive but I don't know if it is because of the HCG still?? If anyone knows, please help me! :)

"Trying"

We are trying to get pregnant with our 2nd child. It is taking longer than it did with the first. Was this the case with anyone else? I'd love to hear encouragement!

Also, after we have sex, all the "stuff" practically gushes out of me, even if I lay there for a long time afterwards. It just worries me that the "stuff" isn't getting up far enough, because I don't remember that happening when we were trying with our first. What do you think?

What Would You Do?

This is going to sound really weird but two nights ago I went outside to water my yard and I saw the next door neighbor's son who is 7 playing with their dog. Now this doesn't stike me as odd but the next part does. I watch the child stick his finger up the dog's vagina and laugh like crazy. I found this to be super disturbing so I went inside. However it was like a bad accident and I had to go to the window and look at what was going on. At this point the child had gotten a shovel from the sand box and was now probing the dog's vagina with the handle. My question is what should I do? Call animal services? Tell his parents? Talk to the little boy directly? It just seems very disturbing to me. I mean he has a baby sister at home and god only knows what he does to her!

Getting Kids to Eat Their Dinner

I have young children but recently got custody of an older child. This is kind of new to me.

What do you do when they say they hate the food that you cooked? The food I cook is very kid friendly. Does anyone have some good ideas? I want real life answers not from the so called "experts". That's why I'm asking you guys. I love to hear your opinions. Thanks.

P.S. What do you say when they are bored?

baby refusing breast for the 4th time

My baby is going to be 4 months in 2 days and this is the 4th time he is refusing the breast. Every time it lasts about less then a week but this time its getting longer. I have tried everything, changing positions, trying before he gets too hungry, get the milk flowing before, even tried giving milk and switching to the breast while his eyes are closed but he always catches on and starts crying. I have had a mastitis and have a problem with too much milk. I have been using a nipple shield since the beginning but I still have a fast letdown and breastfeeding lying on my back isn't working anymore. Does anyone have any solutions?"

retroactive child support in Oregon?

I am in the unfortunate process of applying for child support from my someday-to-be-ex husband. My child and I are in another state with my family and he is in Oregon. My state doesn't do retroactive child support, but they are requesting it as some states do. So, does anyone know, does Oregon do retroactive child support? I'm having no luck finding answers on the internet and don't have long distance service to call Oregon so ask. I'm really hoping so, as state-to-state child support enforcement can take up to a year! Thanks for your help.

decorating

Does anyone have any DIY decorating tips? I am redecorating my house and I love doing crafty things. Do you have any fun ideas or even websites for just decorating in general, it doesnt have to be DIY.

CAUTION: SEX QUESTION!!!

Do any of you have sex when you (or your wife) is on their period? I used to say no to my husband because I thought it would gross him out. We tried it and my husband loves it. I guess because it is wetter down there. We don't do it on my heavy days, but definitely on the other days. We just put a towel underneath me in case of spills. So yeah, do any of you do it?

If not, you should give it a try.

How Much???

My husband and I are having a disagreement and I need your advice. He thinks we don't have sex enough and I think we do it too much. We average about 2-3 times a week and that is fine with me but he says every other day!

So here are my questions.

How much is too much and how much is not enough?
How often do you guys average?

Is it as overrated as I think it is?

LASIK eye surgery

I am thinking about getting lasik eye surgery done and just thought I would ask a couple questions if any of you out there have done it...

1-Where did you get it done and when? (I'm looking for somewhere in Utah)
2-Did you get the PRK or Lasik and how much was it?
3-Would you recommend getting it?
4-How was the actual procedure and how long until you could see without glasses/contacts?
5-Have you since then had a baby and if so did it change your eyes?

And any other advice or help you can think of...?
Thanks it is appreciated!

Siblings

We were at a family party this weekend and found out that my husband's 2 brothers are planning a fishing trip to Alaska the end of this summer and are not inviting him. They were acting really strange and being very secretive. This made my husband feel bad. We don't have a lot of spare money but the invite would be nice. Ever since they started making money they've changed and have stopped inviting us to do things with them. I know they are not obligated to invite him but it makes me sad for him. I really want my husband to tell them off but he's too nice. Do you think he should? Do you always include all of your siblings if you invite one?

3rd New Baby

I'm having our third baby within a week or so.

So, my question is:

What was harder for people; None to 1 kid, 1 to 2 kids, or 2 to 3 kids?

I had no problem transitioning with my first two.  And honestly I'm really tired of hearing "Oh wait till number three comes along.  You are gonna be out numbered now, three is chaos, blah, blah, blah......"

So I want to know how others have handled it and what was harder for them.

I personally don't have the mentality that number three is going to overwhelm me.  I'm just not that type.

Any Hair Stylists Out There?

I like my hair curly--which means a new perm a couple of times a year. I've been getting it done the same way for years now with great success. However, last time the stylist had to use a different type of perm solution--the usual kind has been discontinued. Well the perm didn't take at all. My hair didn't end up even a tiny bit curlier than before. The stylist is going to redo it, but I'm nervous about redoing it too soon. I don't want to seriously damage my hair and end up with it looking just awful, falling out, or something horrible. It's in pretty good shape right now. The first perm didn't do hardly any damage and I had several inches cut off the same day so the ends are in good shape. So, I'd love to hear your advice? How long would you wait before re-perming? Thanks!

what do you think?

My sister just called with an interesting question and I was curious to hear what your thoughts are...

Here are the facts:
My sister and her husband are looking to purchase their first home. They like others want the most bang for their buck.
She called and told me about a house they are going to look at tonight for the first time. Like usual, I asked for the stats and she told me that it's in a great neighborhood where homes usually sale from the upper $200s to the mid $300s. The house they are looking at is going for about $175.
She proceeded to tell me the reason the house is priced so much less than the others is because the house has a little bit of history. Apparently, about 2 yrs ago a family was murdered there. She said that the mom took the life of her 2 children in their rooms and went to the master and killer her husband and then killed herself.

She wanted to know if after they look at it and if it fits their needs, should they consider buying it with it's history? She also wanted to know if I think people would be freaked too much to come over for visits.

What do you think? Would you consider a home with this history even if the price is amazing? If they purchased it, how long would they have to live there before they try to sale again? I can't imagine this would be a good house to live in for only 2 years and try to sale again...
Would you be too freaked to visit her?

POTTY TRAINING

I am about to begin potty training my 2 year old daughter, but I want to hear from YOU---

What's the best potty training method out there?

Enrichment group

Ok, I'm sure there are some really creative people who read this blog so I need your help:

I want to get more involved in my new ward and meet more people and so I've decided to start an enrichment group. I want it to be about learning all things domestic, sewing, cooking, crafting, organization, making jewelry, a place just for a lot of people to share the talents they have! I was thinking of calling it "domestic divas." Don't make fun - I know it sounds cheesy but kinda fun, too!

So... please tell me what groups you have in your ward that are like this, what activities you have done and things you have learned and what you have seen work and not work. Thanks!

Temple dress

I am looking for a new temple dress. We live outside of Utah and our temple doesn't rent clothing, so I need to buy one since my current one doesn't fit. I've been looking around on line and the dresses are either not attractive or VERY expensive. I really don't want to spend more than about $50. Does anyone know of an online place to get attractive reasonably priced temple dresses. DH could also use a new pair of pants so if they sell those too, it would be bonus.

Letting your kids play out side

On the "let it all out post" some one commented on parents not supervising their kids while outside. I was wondering do you let your kids play out side with out supervision?

I live in a wonderful neighbor hood. In fact it is in the top 3 safest city's in the U.S. A row of 5 house's all have kids my kids ages. They play outside with them from about 5 to 8 every night. In the beginning I was out side every minute. Then I realized all the other parents were watching too. The kids just go from one house to another. Who ever's house they are at, that parent watches them. I do go check in on them, about every 30 minutes. They all know were they can go and were they can play. They have never gone out of those boundaries.

I just sit back and think of everything I was doing when I was there age. I feel so bad kids are not allowed to be kids now day's. To much bad things happen in today's world and I know this. I do watch my kids and they do get into trouble when they do something wrong. But, at what point do you let them just be kids and not have other people think you are a bad mom?

I do not let my kids roam the neighbor hood so please do not get on to me for that.
